3rd Annual Passport To Your Future - May 10

(Updated: 5/1/2017)
The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce, WorkOne Southeast, River Valley Resources, PeopleReady and Genesis: Pathways to Success, is hosting the 3rd Annual Job Fair titled “Passport to Your Future” at Tyson Activity Center in Versailles on May 10, 2017.

Passport to Your Future is designed to focus on two segments: a morning portion for high school seniors and an afternoon portion for the greater community. We anticipate that students from three area high schools will be attending, along with students from the Southeastern Career Center!

Prior to this day, students will have prepared resumes and cover letters, collected reference letters, and documented volunteer experience, certifications they have earned, and job shadowing opportunities. Students will have these items available for your review. Many students are available for employment or internships after graduation in May; therefore, we are looking for employers who believe they will have jobs available for seniors after graduation or who would like to provide information to potential employees.

We ask that you provide a tablecloth and bring promotional items to hand out to the students and job fair attendees, in addition to application materials. If possible, please bring two individuals from your company - one to run the table and one to help with potential interviews.

Thanks to PeopleReady, the Chamber has received a grant that will cover all expenses. Because of this, there will not be a vendor booth charge this year. Lunch will be provided and guest speaker, Tim Hosey with Timothy Hosey & Associates will be our guest speaker.

Please RSVP to the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce by May 3rd at ripleycc@ripleycountychamber.org or call the office at 812-689-6654. After this time, we’ll follow up with interested employers to collect information about their companies and give more specific details about the event, such as setup time and lunch.

As all of you know, one of our challenges is attracting and keeping our students here in our region to pursue career opportunities and showing students opportunities available to them. This event assists in this effort. The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce, WorkOne Southeast, River Valley Resources, PeopleReady, Genesis: Pathways to Success, Jac-Cen-Del, Milan, South Ripley High Schools and the Southeastern Career Center thank you very much for your consideration in this event. We look forward to your participation on May 10, 2017!
