Izzy’s was founded in 2013 by Adam Israel as a local breakfast, lunch and catering business. In 2015 it expanded its catering operations into the Indianapolis and Cincinnati markets while also operating it’s breakfast and lunch business. In 2017, Bill Gardner became a 50% owner and Izzy’s opened a prep kitchen in the old Marilyn’s Flower shop to allow for more expansion. In 2018, Hillcrest Country Club invited Izzy’s to expand their restaurant business by taking over the restaurant at the club which allowed Izzy’s to open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and allowing them to obtain a liquor license. Izzy’s has been at Hillcrest since February 2018 with hopes of being there for a long time.
Adam was born and raised in Batesville/Oldenburg. He grew up loving baseball and cooking. He is a Batesville High School graduate of 2005 and studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and a restaurant owner for 7 years. His favorite cuisine is Authentic Italian. Adam has an amazing family, Wife – Megan, Daughters – Kylie (13) and Alexis (1). His favorite hobbies are playing softball, traveling when he gets a chance and watching the History Channel.
Bill Gardner was born and raised in Batesville. He graduated from Batesville High school and then from Indiana University. He started working in the restaurant business after he graduated from college and now has over 13 years of restaurant experience. He enjoys the relationships that he has built with all the people he has worked with and is beyond grateful for all the “regulars” that have followed him from the past restaurants To Izzy’s.
