Your Role at Baxter
This position will report to the EHS Manager and perform technical duties in programs related to industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and environmental stewardship while supporting the Batesville Indiana Manufacturing Organization.

What you’ll be doing
Conduct both routine and special inspections of manufacturing operations as directed by EHS Manager to verify compliance to applicable EHS regulations.
Perform waste and wastewater sampling events and evaluate results with the Senior Environmental Specialist.
Complete gap assessments to determine adherence with corporate initiatives (e.g., LOTO, combustible dust, machine guarding, environmental sustainability, etc.).
Under direction of the EHS Manager, evaluate programs on workplace safety and health.
Verify approved corrective and preventative actions have been implemented and sustained.
Assist with EHS program updates that result in prevention of injury or illness to workers and damage to the environment.
Support EHS department during incident investigations to identify root causes and how they might be prevented in the future.
Work with EHS Manager to mitigate ergonomic risks, potentially hazardous conditions, and improve EHS-related processes.
Create daily safety messages that the site’s Leadership Team can use to communicate the importance of safety within their respective areas.
Collect and enter data into the EHS management system.
Conduct training on a variety of safety and environmental topics.
Participate on facility EHS teams.
Assist in the formation of Job Hazard Analyses.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering or related field required.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related experience.
Knowledge of EHS-related regulations
Ability to work both independently and on a team.
Self-motivated, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Excellent computer skills. CAD experience a plus
Good communication, written and oral skills.
Excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle a broad range of tasks and priorities.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $41,500 – $120,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
