Your Role at Baxter As part of an R&D project team, the Principal Electrical Engineer owns the design of modules, circuit boards, and sub-assemblies, from conception to production. Incumbent will work as part of a team and ensure that the project progresses in the defined manner. This is a hybrid role. Our team works Mondays and Fridays remotely and Tuesday through Thursday onsite at our Batesville, IN location. What you'll be doing Willing to learn from expert engineers, receive mentorship on technical issues, engage in design reviews, and help resolves sophisticated problems. This position will give you the opportunity to design circuit boards that run motors, control touch screen displays, monitor patient weight, heart rate, and respiratory rate, control blowers for air mattresses and communicate with the hospital network through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. You will be involved in every part of the process, from working with Hospitals to understanding user needs, developing requirement, setting schedules, designing circuit boards, testing your designs, supporting circuit board manufacturing, supporting product assembly procedures and test systems, and supporting the initial deliveries to customers. Experience with documenting designs and analysis including hardware requirements, hardware detailed design, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and testing requirements. Experience designing communication interfaces between circuit boards including, CAN, USB, SPI, I2C, LVDS, and display boards. Experience interfacing both analog and digital sensors to embedded processors including air pressure, temperature, load cells, current measurement, and others. Experience designing DC to DC switching power supplies. Work with others to evaluate hazardous conditions and practices, including managing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) to develop and implement hazard control practices and programs. Implement solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance and best practices including leading the lockout/tagout and other essential EHS programs. Research industry “Best-Practices” to ensure world class leadership in EHS&S. Are you passionate about medical technology and devices and how they interact with patients and caregivers? In this role, you get to work closely with clinicians to improve their experience using our hospital beds and mobile and overhead patient lift systems (potentially other product portfolios, too). You will make impactful recommendations for new product development and sustaining products on the market. You will apply human factors engineering principles to the design, development, and evaluation of medical products while working with cross-functional project teams. With minimal guidance, plan, schedule, and lead human factors engineering activities for innovating new and improving existing medical products with product stakeholders (customers, marketing, and engineering). What you'll be doing Develop and communicate HF plans, tasks and deliverables with project teams and manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones through clear, concise oral and written communications. Conduct use-related risk analysis throughout all stages of product development and identify interface-based root causes and/or mitigations. Plan and lead human factors/usability studies (formative and summative) for hardware, software, labeling product interfaces compliant with applicable global medical device standards. Generate detailed, high quality technical documentation to capture use specifications, user needs, user interface requirements, usability study (formative and summative) analyses and findings. With minimal direction, responsible for coordinating all human factors activities necessary to complete a major product development program or several small projects. In partnership with other R&D teams, develop product prototypes for user interface evaluation and validation. Engage in personal on-going learning programs to broaden knowledge in human factors engineering and to grow capabilities in new fields of user experience design in order to improve individual effectiveness. What you'll bring Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Engineering (HFE), or equivalent degree (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Human-Computer Interface, Applied Psychology, etc.) 3+ years of working experience in human factors for medical devices. Proven experience in HFE principles and methodologies (ergonomics, human computer/machine interface, data collection, data analysis, etc.). Proven experience in applying human factors techniques on programs across product lifecycle (user research, prototyping, formative & summative product evaluation, use-related risk analysis, etc.). Proven experience writing HFE protocols and reports for the medical device industry. Clear working knowledge of IEC 62366, USFDA Guidance: Applying Human Factors and Usability Engineering to Medical Devices, ANSI/AAMI HE75, and ISO 14971. Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied functions (Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, etc.). Understanding of user centered design, heuristic evaluations, design of experiments, and qualitative data analysis. Ability to solve HFE problems with minimal assistance. Ability to decompose complex problems into actionable task lists. Preferred Master’s or PhD preferred. Experience with IRB submissions preferred. Understanding of Design Controls (USFDA 21 CFR 820.30) preferred. Exposure to 510k submissions preferred. Clinical experience in health care environments preferred. Your team The field service team works within hospital and service setting environments to repair medical devices. What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Perform duties of Material Support 8 position. Perform all required duties in connection with receiving into warehouse, pull items from location and move them to appropriate areas, load and un-load trucks. Complete loading documents, and follow verbal instructions. Perform various material handling duties including, but not limited to: counting, weighing, sorting, locating, stocking and delivering parts, materials fabricated in-process stock, supplies, tools or equipment to required areas. Location and accurately identification of parts and products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: – Other duties may be assigned:
  • Complete/maintain required paperwork such as quality charts, work instructions, production charts, log books, etc.
  • Use industrial trucks, forklifts, order pickers, hand trucks, electric pallet movers, manual effort, or any other means to carry and move products, parts, supplies, material, tools and equipment to and from departments, floors or plant areas.
  • Knowledgeable of inventory management system, stock movement procedures and overall manufacturing method of operations. Must use computer to determine or reconcile schedules and have an understanding of reports and documents.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean and orderly condition including checking and adding oil, fuel/levels, etc.
  • Report promptly when maintenance and repair work is needed. Follow prescribed driving procedures and use of the daily vehicle operator’s checklist
